Scan
the temple (without touching skin) to obtain a temperature reading:
Both the thermometer and the subject need to have
been at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. The recommended distance
between the thermometer and the temple is 0.5cm or less. It is important
to keep the temple area clean and free of sweat and makeup to avoid a
false reading. Scan slowly, and DO NOT touch the skin. The time of measurement
will be between 5 and 30 seconds, depending on when the highest measurement
is reached.
For measuring temperature
of objects or liquids:
Temperature is obtained almost
immediately or in about 0.6 seconds when the SCAN
button is pressed and released. If the SCAN button
is held down, the temperature reading will be continuously
updated and displayed on the screen. No beeping
sound will be heard
in this mode.
