Auto Control Medical contributes $130,000.00 to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada

Keith MacKinnon and Robert Burgy of Auto Control Medical presenting a $130,000.00 cheque to Rocco Rossi, CEO of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

The $130,000.00 contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada encompasses two programs (“Red Dress” and “February is Heart Month”) that Auto Control Medical participates in to support their line of LifeSource blood pressure monitors. 

The success of the programs has encouraged the Foundation to grant Auto Control Medical an exclusivity in the Blood Pressure monitor category and Auto Control Medical is actively working with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada to highlight that fact.

According to a study published by the University of Harvard, there is a link between the increase of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. The study carried out among 27 269 women shows that the risk of death caused by cardiovascular diseases is 6,8 times greater when compared to non diabetic patients.

A 20-year follow-up of the Finnish Twin Cohort Study shows the relationship between moderate alcohol consumption and the risk for diabetes.The aim of this study was to investigate alcohol consumption in relation to the incidence of type 2 diabetes.
